What is Sedation Anesthesia?
BA Clinic's sedation anesthesia is an anesthetic method that induces a state of sleep through intravenous injection.
Compared to general anesthesia, it has fewer side effects and sequelae, and minimizes sudden movements due to anxiety and pain, thereby improving the quality of the procedure.
■ What are the fasting guidelines for sedation anesthesia?
For adults, fasting from water (small amounts) for at least 2 hours,
and from food for at least 6 hours before anesthesia is required for sedation anesthesia.

Is it possible to resume daily activities on the same day after sedation?
Yes, it is possible. After sedation at BA Clinic, Flumazenil is always administered to help clear the mind from the grogginess of the sedation. Thanks to this, a quick return to daily life is possible after sedation, and you will not experience symptoms like headaches or prolonged grogginess throughout the day, which can sometimes occur.
Does sleep anesthesia involve pain?
Sleep anesthesia itself causes almost no pain. There might be a temporary stinging sensation during the injection of the anesthetic, but after that, the procedure proceeds comfortably without pain.
How long does it take for the sedation to take effect?
Generally, it takes around 5 to 10 minutes. After the anesthetic is administered, you quickly enter a sedated state, and recovery is relatively quick even after the procedure is completed.
Is it possible to eat after sedation anesthesia?
Yes, it is possible. However, to minimize nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort caused by sedation anesthesia, we recommend resting for about 1 to 2 hours after the procedure and then starting with small amounts of soft food.
If I undergo sleep anesthesia, will I not remember the procedure?
Most people do not retain memories of the procedure. Since the anesthetic state is naturally maintained after sleep induction, the process during the procedure is not perceived, and it concludes comfortably.
주의사항1. If you move excessively during sedation anesthesia, you may injure yourself with the needle. For safety, you may be awakened and proceed with the procedure under Midazolam anesthesia while conscious.
2. You may experience dizziness after the procedure, so please use public transportation or be accompanied by a guardian when you visit.
3. Please remove nail art and gel nails before visiting.
4. It is recommended to avoid excessive drinking, saunas/jjimjilbangs, hot baths, and strenuous exercise for 3 to 7 days after the procedure.
5. You may temporarily experience weakness in your hands and feet and dizziness, but this will recover over time.
